We saw it again last night: reporters dismissing claims simply because some self-appointed fact checkers said so. The solution is critical thinking: do your own research and draw your own conclusions. I'm skeptical of anyone who claims to be a political "fact checker"--particularly during campaign season. And I consider exposing this latest deception as a service in and of itself.

Because you are so critical of Politifact one would assume that you have an alternative. I don't wish to attack you or deny you the right to your opinion however, since you were concerened enough to write an article about biased fact reporting groups perhaps you would do me the favor of identifying a group that is not biased. Or are you just another person with a pen that has plenty of complaints but offer no solutions?

The napster decision, as well as numerous other decision regarding plain old folks who do this should have informed the judges decision. I would take this one all the way to the Supreme Court. Viacom ought to win this one. It shoudl have never gone this way to begin with. One's own works, whether it be words, music, art or science, manufactured goods or patents are clearly protected under numerous US laws.

I am leery of anything done by committee. Several years ago, there was an Internet chess match: Garry Kasparov vs. the World. The World team consisted of ordinary Internet users guided by a panel of experts, and its moves were decided by voting. Kasparov won.

Your article brought a smile to me this morning, life is short, and I have had a few medical things done to prolong my life. So far, so good. I am not sure which I would be better/worse off with : committee of doctors or committee of family? There is always that chance - that black swan occurrence.

    David,

You say you are against nuclear weapons. That's a reasonable and humane position.

You say you are against nuclear energy. That's a reasonable and humane position.

You criticize the US for what you consider its hypocritical position. That's a reasonable and humane position.

But then you turn around and totally contradict yourself by expressing support for the brutal and genocidal Iranian regime's right to develop technology for nuclear weapons.

It's obvious that they are developing nuclear weapon technology and that "nuclear energy" is just an excuse. Countries that are developing nuclear energy don't hide facilities, develop missiles, and talk incessantly about another country being wiped out.

Which is the only country ever to use nuclear weapons against another? How many weapons do the US, Russia, China, Israel etc. have? And how many does Iran have?

I oppose all nuclear uses, including nuclear energy production, mainly because it is impossible to get rid of the waste. However, Iran has a right to do this.

Until America starts seriously disarming, and stops supporting nuclear states like Pakistan and Israel, America is not on the moral high ground.
